The application deadline for this season for The School Closings Network has passed. The deadline for applications was October 31st. We are not accepting new business applications at this time. New applications for other types of organizations will be reviewed in August of 2008.

The School Closings Network is a cooperative formed by all the named media shown on the bottom of this web page. It is primarily designed to allow schools, day care centers, pre-schools and other human service organizations a way to communicate changes in their normal operating schedule to the general public. Certain businesses may be permitted access to the system, but not every organization or business that asks for access will be granted their request.

Each media organization has its own policies for what and how it uses the information from this system. There is no group policy. No organization is mandated to use the information in any specific way. However, in general, beginning with the fall of 2007, none of the participating broadcast media members will display on TV or announce on radio any business closings. All of the participating media members will continue to provide business closings on their websites, but ONLY on their websites. In addition, the fee for business, approved for membership will increase from $25.00 to $50.00 annually. That fee is due on September 1st, 2007.

If all the information is correct, click the 'My information is correct' button on the bottom of the page. If you need the change anything, click the 'Edit' button instead.
